Glowbug - Mr Plastic

Glowbug é o projecto a solo de Daniel Anderson, reputado membro dos Idiot Pilot e The Ghost And The Grace. Este músico é natural de Bellingham, nos subúrbios de Washington e lançou no passado dia vinte e cinco de maio o seu disco de estreia intitulado Mr. Plastic, via Bandcamp.  Este disco foi antecedido por 3 EPs lançados no último ano e quer Mr Plastic, quer os singles Not Another Test e To Buy A Knife estão disponíveis para download gratuito, algo que Anderson justifica da seguinte forma: As a sign of my appreciation for those who care to support the music that I make, this album is available to for absolutely nothing. Enjoy it, share it, burn it. Give it to whoever you want and hopefully they will like it as well. In the meantime, if you really must pay me for this record I would love for you to chose one of the fine charities below and donate a little something. Todas as canções do álbum foram escritas, gravadas e produzidas por Anderson, com o apoio adicional de Christopher Newton. No entanto, contou também com a ajuda de outros músicos nos instrumentos, nomeadamente o já citado Chris Newton, Brittany Hurley e Hanna Adams.

A sonoridade do projeto Glowbug é nitidamente experimental e descrita pelo próprio Daniel como uma busca da simbiose perfeita entre os My Bloody Valentine e a chamada dance music; A lot of the time dance music relies on the fact that it’s consumption is kinetic, it’s aiming to move you physically instead of emotionally, and I wanted to write songs that did both.
