Cosmo - Cosmo EP

Lançado no passado dia vinte e cinco de setembro, Cosmo é o EP homónimo de estreia do projeto a solo de Felix White com o mesmo nome, guitarrista dos The Maccabees. Este EP conta com algumas participações especiais, nomeadamente Florence Welch, Hugo White, irmão de Felix, Adam Day dos Lyrebirds, Jassie Ware e Jack Peñate! O EP foi gravado no estúdio dos Maccabees no sul de Londres e os videos das canções podem ser vistos no site do projeto.

O EP tem sete canções, com especial destaque para Midnight, a canção que conta com Florence Welsh na voz, um tema algo confuso ao início mas que depois evolui em múltiplas sobreposições de sons e arranjos variados. A música é, no mínimo, diferente das habituais propostas indie rock britânicas. Mas Yalla também merece uma audição atenta, um tema que teve direito a um excelente video. A propósito da conceção deste EP, de como ele surgiu e da forma como todo o processo de desenrolou, declarou Felix ao NME:

I sent some stuff to Jack as he was interested in hearing it, and then he phoned me on the bus and said 'I think I have got a song for one of them', came round and it just happened in half an hour. That’s when it started becoming… music, rather than just random bits. Just after that happened, we went on tour with Florence. I had 'Yalla' and we were all hanging out and she said 'Oh, I like that one, I've got a song for that as well'. All the music was finished and then the vocals were done after with the people who wrote them. I co-wrote some of them, but it ended up being a total collaboration.
